Hello classic honda and nighthawk fans. I’m moving into enduro riding and letting my street bikes go. I’ve had a few 1983 550's and this is my last one. Honda only made this bike one year. It has great lines and a timeless street bike style. The 550 nighthawk was built during the “550 wars”. There were tariffs back in the early 1980’s on japanese bikes with larger displacement so honda focused on making the 550 very powerful for it’s size. This bike makes about 65 horsepower and revs all the way to 9,000 rpm. They look cool and are fun to ride. I bought this bike from the original owner in riverside, ca. I drove out from tucson back in 2009 to pick it up. It is all original and 100% stock. It runs great and everything on it works. The chrome is perfect and there are no dents, cracks or broken tabs on the side covers. The exhaust system is flawless which is really hard to find on these bikes. It is untouched except for basic maintenance that i have done. I have the original tool kit. It comes with two original honda keys, a clear arizona title, and the owner's manual. The seat on the bike is covered in leather that matches the original pattern. This is a spare seat i had recovered. I have the original seat as well in perfect condition and it is included with the bike. I also have many nos parts for the 1983 550 nighthawk. Many of them are hard to find. He was the master of motorcycle candy paint. The shop’s name was vintage honda painting. He painted this bike for me in the original candy presto red. It didn’t really need it but i wanted this bike to be perfect and he was not going to be painting anymore. The color match is excellent and it looks amazing, especially in full sunlight. I bought this bike from the original owner in wisconsin and shipped it out to tucson. I had to surrender the original title here in arizona when i transferred ownership and registered it. However, i kept a copy of the original title and the envelope it came in. It has 7,750 miles on it now. It is all original and 100% stock. It runs great and everything on it works.
